Current requirements

VEVRAA veteran hiring benchmark. Federal contractors set an annual veteran hiring benchmark (national figure: 5.1%, set July 31, 2025) and measure against it. Basic duties trigger at a single contract or subcontract of $200,000 or more; at $200,000+ and 50+ employees a written veteran affirmative action program is also required. VEVRAA is a statute — it stayed in force through the 2025 EO rescissions.

ESDS job listing. Covered contractors must list openings with the state employment service delivery system for veteran priority referral — the most common finding in a VEVRAA review.
